Price and billing: OmniWatch is a paid subscription. Plans start at $11.99 a month (Standard, billed monthly) or $95.88 a year (Standard, billed annually), plus applicable sales tax, and renew automatically until you cancel. OmniWatch offers a full refund if you ask within 14 days of purchase on monthly plans or 30 days on annual plans. Sign-up asks for your Social Security number so TransUnion can verify your identity. Prices checked October 7, 2026; current prices are on OmniWatch's pricing page.
Breach Check Guide is an independent website, not OmniWatch. We reviewed OmniWatch's public pricing page, sign-up page and Terms of Use on October 7, 2026. We did not buy a plan for this review, so we describe features as OmniWatch presents them and point out where free alternatives exist.
Plans and prices
OmniWatch sells three plans, each available billed monthly or billed annually. Paying annually works out cheaper per month: OmniWatch's pricing page shows the Standard plan at $7.99 a month when billed annually, compared with $11.99 a month billed monthly.
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Identity theft insurance* | Scam and ransomware reimbursement* | Credit monitoring |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $11.99 per month | $95.88 per year | up to $2M | up to $50K | 1 bureau (TransUnion) |
| Elite | $21.99 per month | $179.88 per year | up to $4M (up to $3M for New York residents) | up to $100K | 3 bureaus |
| Family (Elite for 2 adults) | $29.99 per month | $239.88 per year | up to $8M | up to $200K | 3 bureaus |
What the Standard plan includes
According to OmniWatch's pricing page: dark web monitoring, data breach notifications, Social Security number monitoring, name and address monitoring, 1-bureau credit monitoring with alerts and a monthly credit report through TransUnion, a TransUnion instant credit lock, AI scam detection tools for emails and texts, 24/7 identity theft restoration support, antivirus for one device and a VPN for two devices.
What Elite and Family add
Elite moves credit monitoring to all three bureaus with a quarterly 3-bureau credit report, and adds payday loan alerts, home title monitoring, malware blocking and antivirus for three devices, along with higher insurance limits. Family is the Elite plan for two adults with doubled coverage limits.
OmniWatch has also advertised short promotional offers on its own site, such as a $1 trial, but the one we saw was marked as ended, and the sign-up page we reached showed the Standard Monthly plan with $11.99 due today. Its Terms say promotional plans are billed at the rate and frequency shown when you enroll, so read the order summary before you pay.
Billing, renewal and price changes
- Automatic renewal: OmniWatch's Terms say each plan renews automatically every month or every year, charging the same payment method, until you cancel.
- Charges continue whether or not you use it. The Terms state that fees continue regardless of how often you use the service.
- Price changes: OmniWatch reserves the right to change the fee for a renewal term and says it will email you notice before the change takes effect.
- Tax: prices are plus applicable sales tax.
Refunds and cancellation
Per OmniWatch's Terms of Use, orders placed on its website are eligible for a full refund if you request it within 14 days of the original purchase for monthly plans, or within 30 days for annual plans. Refund requests are made by calling customer care. Purchases made in the Apple or Google app stores are refunded through Apple or Google instead.
You can cancel at any time from the My Account tab on your dashboard, by live chat, or by calling (877) 892-8249 (7am to 4pm Pacific, Monday to Friday, except holidays). There is no cancellation fee. If you cancel an annual plan after the refund window, service continues to the end of the year you paid for, and you are not billed again, but you do not get a prorated refund for the unused months.
Why it asks for your Social Security number
Credit monitoring and a credit lock require the credit bureau to confirm who you are. OmniWatch says it passes your Social Security number securely to TransUnion for that verification and does not store it in its own systems. This is a normal requirement for any service that monitors your credit file, but it does mean you are sharing sensitive data, so only enter it on OmniWatch's own site after checking the address in your browser. Breach Check Guide never asks for it.
How it compares with what you can do for free
- Breach alerts for your email: free from Have I Been Pwned and Mozilla Monitor.
- Credit lock: a free credit freeze at all three bureaus blocks new credit too. OmniWatch's lock is quicker to switch on and off, but it covers TransUnion only, so a full freeze still needs Equifax and Experian.
- Credit monitoring: you can check your reports yourself every week for free at AnnualCreditReport.com. OmniWatch automates this and alerts you.
- Recovery help: IdentityTheft.gov gives you a free recovery plan and letters. OmniWatch adds specialists who help you through it.
- Insurance and Social Security number monitoring: these have no free equivalent. The FTC notes that identity theft insurance generally covers recovery costs rather than stolen money; OmniWatch says its coverage includes reimbursement for fraudulent account withdrawals and separate scam and ransomware reimbursement, within the limits and exclusions in its insurance disclosure.
Our free vs paid comparison goes through this in more detail.
Pros and cons
Pros
- Prices, renewal terms and refund windows are spelled out in its Terms of Use
- Cancel online, by chat or by phone, with no cancellation fee
- Watches your Social Security number and credit, not just your email
- Restoration support and insurance included on every plan
Cons
- A recurring cost, while the core protective steps are free
- The credit lock covers TransUnion only, and Standard plan credit monitoring covers one bureau
- Refund window is short on monthly plans (14 days)
- Refund requests are by phone during weekday business hours
- Requires your Social Security number at sign-up
Who it may suit, and who probably does not need it
May suit: people whose Social Security number or financial details were exposed, people who have been victims of identity theft before, and people who would rather pay for monitoring, a one-tap lock and someone to call than manage freezes, reports and recovery paperwork themselves.
Probably not needed: people who have frozen their credit at all three bureaus, use a password manager and two-factor, check their free credit reports, and are comfortable handling a problem through IdentityTheft.gov. Also check whether your bank, card, employer or insurer already gives you a monitoring benefit, or whether a company that exposed your data is offering free monitoring.
